Warning Signs and Behaviors:     Oppositional Defiant Disorder Oppositional Defiant Disorder is significant for a recurrent pattern of negative, defiant, disobediant, and hostile behaviors toward authoritive figures. These behaviors consist of losing temper, arguing with adults, deliberately doing things to annoy others, actively defying or refusing to comply with rules or requests, blaming others for his/her own mistakes or misbehavior, being touchy or is easily or easily annoyed by others, being angry and resentful, or being spiteful and vindictive (DSM IV). Behaviors would lead to significant impairment in social, academic, or occupational functioning.
